About

Melissa Anderson
Life is about learning to receive God's love and then loving God and others out of the overflow of that divine love. I started on the journey of learning this (and living it) when I gave my heart to Jesus at seven. Through the years, I've also learned that we are all on a journey, searching for our heart's deepest desire, which, whether we know it or not, is God. We need connection to Him. But how do we find that connection in this world's beautiful chaos? I've been living into the answer to that question, and it has led me to a ministry of spiritual direction and pastoral counsel.
I am a certified spiritual director and an ordained pastor with experience in pastoral counseling. The Lord brought me to ministry via a hard road, one in which I had to overcome a lifelong struggle with anxiety. It was worth it. And now I love walking alongside people who are going through difficult seasons. There is much growth to be found in those seasons of searching because we can be certain that God will work in them for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
If you're wondering about my personal life... I've been married to my husband, Mark, for 25 years, and we have two sons: Noah, 20, and Elijah, 15. I love spending time with them. Noah is my hiking partner. I'm currently homeschooling Eli. And my husband Mark and I love cooking for each other and sharing a good meal. Since I'm a former college English instructor, I love books and creative writing. That's the reason for the "Scribblings" page on this site.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me. I look forward to learning about you and your journey!
